Update on Ryan Koher

Ryan, Annabel, and their two boys are now back in the United States!

Last week, a judge lifted the restrictions that were preventing Ryan from providing his services as a pilot for Ambassador Aviation, MAF’s business name in Mozambique, and authorized that Ryan’s passport be returned to him. This allowed Ryan to leave the country.

Praise the Lord for this answer to prayer. There will be an extended period of rest, reunion with family, and some time spent at MAF HQ for the Kohers

The two volunteers for the orphanage that were also detained have had all travel restrictions lifted as well.

Please continue to pray that the ongoing investigation of Ryan and the orphanage volunteers will conclude and that the case will be dismissed.

Update as of September 20, 2023

Thank you for your prayers on behalf of Ryan that he would be able to return to work while waiting for the investigation to be completed. Ryan’s attorney has let us know that he will be able to work at the hangar as a mechanic and do other tasks as assigned. We praise the Lord for this answer to prayer! He will not be able to perform his duties as a pilot, which was already known.

We have another prayer ask on a matter that a judge may rule on next week. Ryan’s attorney has submitted a request to the prosecutor to allow Ryan to be able to travel out of the country. If granted, Ryan will be able to return to the U.S. with his family. This would be a major step forward in the case and would allow him to be reunited with his extended family.

Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for Ryan and Annabel. It has been a long season since his arrest on November 4 of last year. We must not cease in our petitions to the Lord on Ryan’s behalf.
