Following an earthquake and tsunami on the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia, MAF is mobilizing our personnel and airplanes to help. MAF has some 150 staff and 15 aircraft based full-time in Papua and Kalimantan, Indonesia. We expect an MAF team and one airplane to arrive in Palu on Tuesday to assess needs and set up a satellite communication system. Once those personnel are in place, they will be able to more accurately determine how MAF can assist. We expect to be working closely with other NGOs in the area to provide air transportation and help those in crisis.
